The Lee University Festival Choir is comprised of approximately 350 singers drawn from each of the seven choral ensembles at Lee University. This chorus performs at various major university and community events, and has performed alongside the Lee University Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, performing major works by Maurice Duruflé, G.F. Handel, Gusav Holst, John Rutter and Mack Wilberg.

In January 2013, the Lee University Festival Choir performed at the 57th United States Presidential Inauguration at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

The Lee University School of Music is looking for talented and hardworking students like you to audition to be a Music Major!

Students may audition for the School of Music before applying or being accepted to Lee University; however, a student must be accepted to the university and to the School of Music through audition to enroll as a Music Major. 

 

Undergraduate Music Admission Process

An Acceptance Status Notification will be given by letter within two weeks of your audition. 

 Audition Acceptance Levels:

  1. Full Acceptance 
  2. Provisional Acceptance
     If a provisional music major takes music courses and elective applied lessons, and successfully completes one semester of study, he/she may re-audition during the end of semester jury exams. If sufficient progress has been made, the student will be granted full acceptance into the chosen music degree program at that time.
  3.  Recommended for Elective Study
    If a student is recommended for elective study, the student may opt into a music minor and/or elective lessons in their choice instrument.

Alexander Loftin

Alexander Loftin is originally from Keller, Texas, but currently lives in Cleveland, Tennessee. He is a sophomore music performance major with an emphasis in commercial music. Alexander is a member of the Symphonic Band, Pep Band, Percussion Ensemble, Small Jazz Ensemble, and the Big Band. He also works in the Music Resource Center. Alexander says, “I chose Lee above other schools because of the outstanding faculty. The professors are amazing musicians and performers and to be able to learn from them has been amazing. Alexander says the best part of his Lee experience has been all the opportunities to perform, especially in South Korea.
