Many high school students enroll at Lee simultaneously, either to enhance the challenge of their required high school courses or to get a head start on their college degree – or both. There are two main ways to pursue dual enrollment (DE) with Lee University: on campus or online. This is something we do well, and many students each semester pursue credits from Lee as part of their regular high school course load.

Dual Enrollment Process

Dual Enrollment Process

The process to enroll in DE at Lee is simple; and it is the same for both on campus and online modes of DE. The distinctions between those are detailed below, and if you are unsure which is the right mode for you, our dual enrollment specialist will be happy to discuss it with you and provide guidance. Once you have chosen which avenue you will pursue, follow these basic steps:

  1. Apply to Lee online.
  2. Send your ACT/SAT/CLT scores and official transcripts to [email protected]. If you're unsure about how to do this, ask your guidance counselor.
  3. Contact our dual enrollment specialist to discuss course selection.
  4. Complete and return the attached documents after speaking with our dual enrollment specialist -Consent Form and Dual Enrollment Registration Agreement
  5. If you have questions or concerns about how our courses will affect your public or private school schedule reach out to your high school’s guidance counselor.

It really is that easy! Join the many dual-enrolled students at Lee this year, and get a head start on your college degree in an environment where you will grow and be challenged unlike anywhere else.

The Cost of Dual Enrollment at Lee

Dual Enrollment at Lee is a cost-effective way to complete accredited university courses and begin building your college transcript. At only $191 per credit hour, plus a $30 registration fee, DE at Lee will save college-degree seeking high school students both time and money.  A majority of courses are three credit hours, so you could get many of the courses under your belt for $603 each! This is a significant savings compared to the regular tuition cost for these same courses; you will have earned college credit before graduating high school and enrolling as a full-time college student.

The cost of books varies from class to class, so it must be accounted for separate from the tuition cost for the class. Tennessee residents may also qualify for the TN Dual Enrollment Grant. This covers the tuition and registration fees for the first five courses entirely, as well $100 per credit hour for the next five courses. For information about this grant, please click  HERE.

Meet Your Dual Enrollment Specialist

Hi there! My name is Mikayla Rasnick, and I am the Dual Enrollment Specialist here at Lee University. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio but have loved living in Tennessee for the past several years. I heard about Lee from family and friends who attended, as well as through my church and participation in Church of God Teen Talent. I graduated in December 2023 with my Bachelor of Science in Human Development with a Business Emphasis. I also took courses for a Social Work minor and spent a year working in Mental Health Case Management following my graduation.

My freshman year, I joined Campus Choir, Lee University's largest traveling ensemble. This experience allowed me to develop in ministry and leadership over the course of four years, and it gave me memories and friendships that I will treasure for a lifetime. I also had the honor to become a member of Delta Zeta Tau, a Greek social service club founded at Lee in 1964. This sisterhood taught me about service, sacrifice, and grace. I am forever grateful for the beautiful community at Lee University and all the learning I experienced spiritually, academically, and socially.

Looking back, I am so grateful that I trusted the Lord and took the leap of faith to go out of state for college. I loved my time in undergrad, and I'm so excited to continue my Lee story with this opportunity to serve dual enrollment high schoolers and families. It is a privilege to walk alongside you as you begin your college journey! Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns, I look forward to working with you!

Dual Enrolled Student Testimonials

Daniel Walker Freshman Biology Major with a Pre-Professional Emphasis

“I always knew I was coming to Lee, but dual enrollment just made sense. It bolstered my credits, was majorly cost-effective, and gave me the opportunity to make friends and meet some professors. It was a Win! Win! I had worried the coursework or scheduling would be too big of a challenge, but it was a fun challenge, and my professors were understanding. I encourage everyone to take as many credits through dual enrollment as they can!”

Abigail Salyer High School Senior

“I’ve been able to do both on-campus and online dual enrollment. The classes are taught by caring faculty who understand the unique balance of being a high school student while also taking challenging college courses. I feel like I’m already in college and I know that I’ll be better prepared when I enroll next year.”

Homeschooled Students at Lee University

Many students choose Lee after pursuing their secondary education from home – in fact, more students come here from a home-based educational background than from any other single high school. That makes homeschooling literally our #1 feeder school!

We’ve found that students with this background thrive at Lee, with high engagement and results that prove their homeschool experience is a highly effective means of college preparation. Students arrive here from many different types of homeschool formats: from home-school cooperative groups to in-home, individual or self-directed instruction to online curriculum. They hail from as far as mission fields around the globe or as close as right here in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Aid for Homeschooled Students

Aid for Homeschooled Students

We mentioned that Lee is very affordable. Part of this is due to the very competitive tuition costs compared to private, Christ-centered institutions across the nation. But another part is the aid available to help pay for the Lee experience. There are numerous means of paying available to students who graduate from a home-based secondary school. Take a look here to see how this process works.

We mentioned that the Lee experience is valuable. Did we mention it is also affordable? There are scholarships here specifically for students transferring in. Combine that with an already very competitive tuition rate, and it's clear why Lee is considered among the most affordable Christ-centered universities in the nation.

Transfer students have exclusive access to three non-competitive scholarship programs only for transfer students: the John D. Nichols Scholarship, the Community College Graduate Scholarship, and the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. Meet Your Transfer Counselor

Hello!  My name is Emily Makowski, and I am the Admissions Counselor for transfer students.  I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA, but I have completely fallen in love with TN and know without a doubt that Lee is exactly where I was meant to be.

In December 2021, I graduated from Lee with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and a double minor in Biblical Studies and Business Administration.  During my time as a student, I had the honor of being a member of Delta Zeta Tau which taught me about true sacrifice and service.  I also had the privilege to be a small piece of Lee’s largest traveling vocal ensemble, Campus Choir, where my love for the Lord and music collided to produce some of the most impactful spiritual experiences, I have ever been a part of.  Both communities provided opportunities to serve my community, grow in my walk with Christ, develop leadership, and create friendships that will last forever.

Overall, Lee has challenged, stretched, equipped, and encouraged me far more than I ever could have imagined. I would not be the same person I am now without my Lee story, and I cannot wait to walk alongside you as you start yours!  Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

Paying for college can be difficult, but a Lee education is more affordable than you might think. We are consistently rated among the nation's most affordable Christian colleges. But what does that mean for you? In such a complicated process, we want to make it a bit simpler. Affordability has two distinct components: how much does it cost you, and how much assistance will you have to cover this cost. This page will simplify this process and help you navigate it.

How Much Does Lee Cost?

Lee is committed to low cost for every student, in state, out of state, regardless of need. Our annual tuition and fees for full-time, undergraduate students consistently ranks Lee among Christian colleges with the lowest cost. We are also affordable, which means that our cost is manageable for students through various kinds of assistance.

Even when compared to schools with lower tuition costs, the average student at Lee utilizes aid programs that make the bottom line possible, so many students find Lee comparable to top-tier state institutions. Given the fact that one fourth of our students are first-generation college attendees, and one third of our students qualify for the Pell Grant, we are confident that you can afford your Lee education no matter what your situation.

The great value of a Lee experience, combined with such a reasonable tuition rate, is the first reason for this confidence.

What Financial Aid Is Available?

The amount of aid available to Lee students is the second reason for our confidence that you can afford your Lee education. Students here find aid available to help pay for college from numerous sources: federal and state grants, private scholarships, generous institutional merit scholarships, and student employment. Many students also carry with them third-party scholarships and grants that help toward their education. After all these most common funding sources are used, some students have a bit more ground to cover, and we have programs designed for students to borrow responsibly to invest in their education, one of the most worthy investments in life.

We have confidence that Lee is an affordable choice for your college experience. We hope you will explore further here to find that it is within reach for you.

In an effort to make this process as simple as possible for our prospective students, we have streamlined the process of applying to Lee and obtaining a financial aid projection. With the exception of a few programs for which we need a separate application, the vast majority of assistance toward your college experience at Lee can be awarded based on your application for Admission, your FAFSA information, and information you provide in your Lee University Scholarship Profile. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the national standard for determining how much your family is expected to contribute to your college education. This application can be filled out at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa (Be sure to select Lee University as a recipient of your FAFSA results). The other two forms are online and can be found in the Lee University’s application portal.

If you’ve seen enough and would like to begin the process, click the “Get Started” button to visit the application portal to start your application and fill out your Scholarship Profile. When you reach the portal, you can “sign up” (get a login) or “sign in” (if you’ve already started an application here). After signing into the portal, click “Start New” and choose between Admissions Application and Scholarship Profile Application. If you are new to the portal, we recommend starting with the Admissions Application, but both will need to be submitted before financial aid can be awarded. If you have started either application, make sure you sign in using the same email address you used originally.
