The Department of Campus Security offers a variety of services to accompany the needs of the University's community. The following is a list of services our offices provide.
ID Cards
The Department of Campus Security issues ID cards to students, faculty, and staff of Lee University. These cards are used as photo ID, access cards to dorms, to store Meal Plan information, for Library usage, chapel attendance credit, and proof of status for merchant discounts. The first ID card issued is free. If a card is lost or intentionally destroyed, the fee for replacement is $10.
Motor Vehicle Registration & Parking
Every individual who maintains or operates a motor vehicle on the Lee University campus must register each vehicle with the Department of Campus Security at the beginning of the semester or within 24 hours of the vehicle being brought to campus. The parking fee is $40 per year and is included on the student bill. Replacement permits are also $40 each.
The vehicle’s State Registration with license plate number and driver’s contact information are required for registration of the vehicle. A photo of the license plate is also acceptable for registering a vehicle.
Students are assigned a specific parking lot(s) designated by their parking permit tag. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular patrols are made of the parking areas, and vehicles illegally parked are ticketed. Being assigned to a specific lot does not assure the student of a parking space in that lot. This also does not give permission for a student to park in an unauthorized space or parking lot.
Students parking in handicap spaces and fire lanes will be fined more severely or towed and may be ticketed by local law enforcement. Vehicles parked in a no-parking zone or blocking dumpsters, driveways, or automobiles are subject to being towed. Commercial towing companies are permitted under law to charge a full towing fee when they attach a vehicle to the wrecker even if the vehicle is not moved. The University is not responsible for damage incurred to a vehicle while parked on Lee University property.
Beginning in August, vehicles may be registered in person at the Campus Security office located on campus at 1000 Barnes Street NE. Students may also register a vehicle in advance by filling out the Vehicle Registration Form. You will receive a confirmation email from Campus Security and notification when your permit has been processed.
