The Center for Calling & Career provides resources for career exploration and preparation, including a Strengths-based developmental approach to career decisions, career readiness, and career connections through our job board. The CC&C offers an opportunity for students, alumni, and employees to examine their strengths and discover a clearer sense of purpose. Students may also declare or change a major or minor at the Center.

Our work is guided by Ephesians 2:10: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. We believe that God gives strengths, talents, or gifts to all humans in creation. We also believe that God calls people in two ways: primarily to a relationship with God, and secondly to tasks and careers in response to that relationship.

Kenzie Sprouse

As I began my search for an internship, I went to the Center for Calling & Career for help. The CC&C gave me assistance on going from good to great on my resume and cover letter. I also completed a mock interview, and this really helped me gain confidence in expressing my story and qualifications for the internship I was seeking. Thanks to the CC&C, I was able to stand out among other job applicants and get an internship in Chattanooga!

Assessments

CliftonStrengths for Students

The CliftonStrengths assessment helps students become confident in who they are and how they can best contribute to the world. It shows how they are unique, what they do best, and how their Strengths motivate and shape their approach to work, school, decision-making, relationships, etc.

This assessment is given in the Gateway orientation class to all incoming freshmen. If you are a transfer student and did not take the assessment in your transfer Gateway, you may request a code from the Center for Calling & Career. We will need both your name and Lee email address to provide a code from the Gallup platform. If you took the assessment in the past and need to identify your Strengths, sign in to cliftonstrengthsforstudents.com with your Lee credentials to search for your results.  You may also reach out to the Center for Calling and Career for your Strengths results.”

Once you have taken the assessment, you may wish to learn more about your Strengths. Strengths Vocational Advisors (SVAs) in the Center for Calling & Career offer individual Strengths coaching sessions.  SVAs greatly enjoy guiding students in discovering their Strengths and new ways to utilize them to maximize their joy of living and working.

PathwayU

PathwayU is a quick, user-friendly tool that measures your interests, values, personality, and workplace preferences. Go to PathwayU to login to your account (use your Lee login and password), take a few short assessments, and view your personalized reports. Your results will offer you insights into who you are and how that connects to careers, and majors.  You can also explore your potential fit for real-time career opportunities.

Career & Major Exploration/Major-Minor Declaration

Are you looking to explore different career or major options? Strengths Vocational Advisors (SVA’s) are Lee faculty from the various academic disciplines who are prepared to listen, question, encourage, and guide you in a discovery of your strengths and calling. These advisors are especially helpful if you are choosing a major, or if you need ideas for linking your strengths to your academic life and career choices.
