Simmons Hall is conveniently located on the Pedestrian Mall next to the Deacon Jones Dining Hall. Residents enjoy close proximity to classroom buildings, the Science and Math Complex, and the DeVos Student Recreation Complex. Each bedroom contains two extra-long twin beds, two chests of drawers, two desks with chairs, two closets, and a sink/vanity. Students have access to a furnished TV lounge and community kitchen on each floor. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, and a stove/oven, and cabinet space. Renovated community bathrooms and showers, along with coin/card-operated laundry facilities, are also located on each floor. A unique feature of Simmons Hall is that it is connected by a hallway to Nora Chambers and Tharp Hall.

Meet the Resident Director: Abigail Poore

Since my freshman year here at Lee, I have wanted to be a Resident Director. I believe being in this role is a unique way to provide holistic care to students, no matter what they are walking through in their college years. As an RD, my goal is to see each student as the unique and special person God has made them to be, and to support them and love them as such. It is such a gift to provide intentional community and spaces for self-growth within the walls of Nora-Simmons, to challenge students as they grow and prepare them to navigate the complex world we live in today. I love being able to sit with students in the big moments, but I also find so much joy to sit with them in the little things and getting to know them throughout the year. It is a joy to get to be in the lives of these college students as they learn who they are and who God has called them to be. It is a gift to work so closely with students, and I cannot wait for the year ahead!
