Abigail P

Meet the Resident Director: Abigail Poore

Since my freshman year here at Lee, I have wanted to be a Resident Director. I believe being in this role is a unique way to provide holistic care to students, no matter what they are walking through in their college years. As an RD, my goal is to see each student as the unique and special person God has made them to be, and to support them and love them as such. It is such a gift to provide intentional community and spaces for self-growth within the walls of Keeble-Dirksen, to challenge students as they grow and prepare them to navigate the complex world we live in today.

I love being able to sit with students in the big moments, but I also find so much joy to sit with them in the little things and getting to know them throughout the year. It is my prayer that each person in Keeble-Dirksen knows they belong, exactly as they are. It is a joy to get to be in the lives of these college students as they learn who they are and who God has called them to be. It is a gift to work so closely with students, and I cannot wait for the year ahead!

Residential Life and Housing's goal is to let students know that they matter, they have a place here, and that they are worth loving and investing in. This is the vision that captured my attention and drew me to the Resident Director position. College can feel lonely and overwhelming, so my goal as an RD is to foster a space of belonging, delight, and the feeling of home for students at Lee. I believe God has called us to love our neighbors as He loves them, as well as encourage them to grow close to Him and discover who He created them to be. I'm deeply honored to walk alongside residents and work together for their flourishing.

New Students

New students are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, once the following criteria have been met:

  • Acceptance to Lee University
  • Completion of a Residence Hall application
  • Payment of the housing reservation deposit

New students will receive an email after submitting their housing application with instructions on how to request a roommate.

Students interested in on-campus housing must complete a Residence Hall Application through the online housing portal, as well as pay the $200 housing deposit. This deposit is required to reserve a housing assignment for the first semester on-campus. In subsequent semesters, it will be held as a roll-over deposit. When a student graduates, moves off-campus or leaves the University, the deposit will be applied (within sixty days after residence halls close of the applicable semester) to the student’s account to cover any unpaid balance or a refund will be issued.

New students who paid the deposit but no longer plan on attending are eligible to receive a deposit refund at their request. To request this, the Housing Deposit Refund form must be submitted by the deadlines listed on the form.

Priority for housing assignments is based on the date of the completed application and deposit. Residence Hall assignments will be sent via email in February, April, May - July for the Fall semester and in November for the Spring semester. The University is not able to guarantee assignment requests. However, every request is given the best possible consideration.

Returning Students

Returning students participate in the Advanced Housing Placement process to reserve a residence hall assignment for each academic year.

Summer housing is available to an eligible group of students on-campus. If you need summer housing, please contact our Coordinator of Housing for assistance.

For more information on how to submit a new or returning student application, please visit  Lee University Residential Life.

Yasmin Vasquez

Meet the Resident Director: Yasmin Vasquez

Residential Life and Housing has left an enduring legacy in my life, shaping who I am both personally and spiritually. From serving as a Floor Leader, to a Resident Chaplain, and now as a Resident Director, each role has stretched and refined me in meaningful ways. Through these experiences, I discovered that home is not a place, but a community build through connection, care, and belonging.

As a Resident Director, my goal is to walk alongside students as they navigate this season of life at Lee, celebrating their victories, supporting them through challenges, and encouraging growth academically, emotionally, and spiritually. I pray that students experience a true sense of home within the walls of Storms Hall and Brinsfield Row Female Townhomes. I am truly excited to walk with them and hear their stories.

Rachel Kiger

Meet the Resident Director: Rachel Kiger

I’m so excited to be back on a campus, serving as a Resident Director and be a small part of what God is doing in the lives of the young women here. It’s my joy and goal to walk alongside students during this formative season—celebrating their growth, praying through challenges, and building a community marked by grace, laughter, and belonging just as I was given during my undergrad at Trevecca Nazarene University.

My heart is full of hope for all that God will do in our halls this year, and I’m honored to help create a space where women feel known, safe, and deeply loved during their time here at Lee. I believe God has beautiful things ahead, and I can’t wait to see how He moves in and through each of the students.
