Special Education Interventionist I, II (K-8, 6-12) Dual Licensure
These programs qualify candidates to be a special educator in many settings. Interventionist I is particularly geared toward primary, elementary and middle grades. Candidates in this specialty area will take courses that are specific to teaching the basics of literacy and math. Interventionist II is particularly geared toward middle and secondary grades. Candidates in this specialty area will take courses that prepare them to teach in one content area with appropriate strategies to aid understanding and progression towards graduation. The dual licensure track combines the preparation for elementary grades with middle and secondary grades. Candidates will take courses that prepare them to teach the full age range of the K-12 setting. It also includes a concentration in one subject area. Students will emerge with a dual license for both K-8 and 6-12.

Capstone
The Capstone course is designed to help graduating students integrate their faith with the academic knowledge they have gained throughout their studies. It is regarded as the final reflection of the essential Core Values of Lee University.
Home/Location
Students will spend most of their time in the Helen DeVos College of Education and in local schools.
Internships/Practicum
Senior year requires clinical practice involving Methods and fulltime student teaching or internships.
