Classroom/Location
The major seeks to pursue experiential learning opportunities. This translates to taking classroom content into personal fitness routines, and exercise leadership in Matrix MX4 HIIT classes in the recreations center.
Faculty utilize experiential learning opportunities in class by learning proper form and technique of over 100 exercises in the campus recreation center. Students use the Polar Beat App and Polar Heart Rate Monitors (HRM) to study physiological changes and adaptations during various forms and intensities of exercise. They also utilize the HRM to develop a 10-week workout program to meet personal fitness goals.
