Politeia Society (Interdisciplinary Reading Group)

Section I- This Society commits itself to enriching Lee University's student population through cultivating the present interest in current political events in the world, and aims to encourage deliberation in regard to the philosophic thought behind the concept of citizenship and our relationship to government. The Society is nonpartisan and, as such, supports no particular
political party.
Section II- The Society shall strive to encourage political interest and involvement by promoting
an open exchange of ideas regarding citizenship, human dignity, liberty, and what the role of the
Christian citizen in a secular regime ought to be.
Section IlI- The Society will strengthen ties between students of all political backgrounds as
well as provide them with contacts to both Lee University's political science faculty and
professors from other universities that participate in the ISI Foundation.
Section IV- The Society will sponsor activities such as study groups, community service, and
lectures by specialists on topics of interest to the group.
Section V- The Society shall promote and participate in national programs offered by the
Intercollegiate Studies Institute, which is a nonpartisan, nonprofit, educational organization,
created for the purpose of connecting students with professors and leaders in business, politics,
and journalism.
