Dr. William Woolfitt joined Lee's faculty in 2012 and teaches creative writing, editing, and publishing. Woolfitt is the author of three books of poetry, “Beauty Strip,” “Charles of the Desert,” and “Spring Up Everlasting” and also a fiction chapbook, “The Boy with Fire in His Mouth.” His short stories, poems, and essays have appeared in Tin House, The Threepenny Review, African American Review, Shenandoah, among others. He has received a Howard Nemerov Scholarship from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and two Denny C. Plattner Awards from Appalachian Heritage.
