Dr. Robert Barnett has been a professor at Lee since 1995. He is a recipient of the Lee University Excellence in Advising Award, Excellence in Teaching Award, the Janet Rahamut Award, the Honorary Alumnus of the Year Award, and was promoted to Distinguished Professor in 2012. Specializing in the Russian Revolution, Barnett also teaches courses on Modern Europe, Tudor and Stuart England, and various seminars in history. Prior to his arrival at Lee, Barnett was the chair of the Department of History and the director of the International Studies Division at Tennessee Wesleyan College. He was also a member of the Russian Bureau of the Tennessee Humanities Council and project evaluator of the Tennessee Humanities Council.
