Dr. Jared Wielfaert has been a part of Lee’s faculty since 2009. He teaches introductory courses in the humanities and Latin and upper-level courses in the history and literature of the Middle Ages. His research focuses on the literary and intellectual cultures of early medieval Europe, with a special interest in history writing and theological debate in Carolingian period, in addition to hagiography, saints, and pilgrimage. Wielfaert also leads a Global Perspectives trip that follows the route of the Camino de Santiago and co-directs a trip focused on Medieval and Renaissance Italy.
