Wind Ensemble to Perform on Tuesday
The Lee University Wind Ensemble will present its first concert of the season on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center. Conductors for the evening are Dr. David Holsinger, professor of music, Winona Holsinger, director of instrumental projects, and second year graduate conductors, Seok Joon Keun and Timothy Linely.
The evening’s performance will include “Symphonic Glorioso” and “Fantasy on a Gaelic Hymnsong,” both composed by Dr. Holsinger, along with Holst’s “First Suite in E-Flat,” Andrew Boss’s “A La Machuat,” and Sousa’s “Who’s Who in Navy Blue.”
Also being performed are Croft’s “Who Puts Their Trust in God Most Just,” Persichetti’s “Divertimento for Band, Opus 42,” and Hanson’s “Chorale and Alleluia.”
“I believe our audience will find the world of wind band music to be a diverse, entertaining, and educational experience,” said Dr. Holsinger. “This year’s ensemble has started very strong, and I look forward to another great year of music making with these students.”
Under the direction of renowned composer and national band clinician Dr. David Holsinger, the Wind Ensemble is committed to the highest level of performance of instrumental ensemble literature for winds and percussion. The Wind Ensemble is a non-traveling organization that performs for special concerts on Lee University’s campus.
The concert will be open to the public and free of charge.
