U-Church to Present an “Evening of Worship”

News

The Lee University U-Church Series will present, for the 11th time, “Come to the Table: An Evening of Worship” on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

This student-led service is designed to bring attention and focus on a time of worship and communion for all who attend. Anyone wishing to participate in worship through music and sharing of the Lord’s Supper is welcome.

“From the very first time we did this service, we planned it around the Lord’s Supper,” said Josh York, U-Church director. “That’s why we continue to call it ‘Come to the Table.’”

The theme for the evening, “All Things New,” will center on 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away, behold, new things have come.” This theme will be revisited in the spring for the next Evening of Worship.

“Evening of Worship is always a Spirit-filled night,” said Lauren Jespersen, a resident director at Lee. “It’s a great experience to see students leading on stage, and very affirming to worship in community with others.”

U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event for students, alumni and the community. Seating is first-come, first-served.

Childcare is available for all who attend. Please contact Christie Wyatt at [email protected] for more information.
