U-Church to Present “An Evening of Worship”

Lee University’s U-Church will host “An Evening of Worship,” led by LeeU Worship, on Sunday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
The theme for the service is “Unveiled,” inspired by the Scripture 2 Corinthians 3:12–18, and will focus on the freedom described in the biblical passage. Campus Ministries will lead the student body in worship through acts of consecration, revelation and transformation.
“Being Palm Sunday, we want to approach this evening of worship with the attitude of welcoming Jesus as King into our midst,” said Wesley Lutes, campus pastor at Lee. “Our desire is to express our love to Jesus as our one true King, to recognize anything that prevents us from seeing Him rightly (unveiled), and receive the gift of Himself as we enter into Holy Week.”
According to Lutes, the event is planned by a committee of students from across campus who are committed to seeing Jesus honored through corporate worship.
“Moments like U-Church allow the space to experience extended time in God’s presence,” said Lutes. “Our aim is to join together as a campus to minister unto Jesus, seeing and savoring Him as King.”
LeeU Worship is a collective of student musicians, songwriters, and worship leaders who lead worship in the weekly chapel services and special events at Lee University. Additionally, the members of LeeU Worship meet weekly to design and program worship experiences specifically developed for college students.
Following the U-Church service, a “Springtime Fair” mixer will take place at the Rec Center as a time for further fellowship and connection. There will be activities, games, and giveaways for everyone in attendance.
“An Evening of Worship” is a free, non-ticketed event, open to students, alumni, and the community. Seating is first come, first served.
