U-Church to Present “An Evening of Worship”

Lee University’s U-Church will host “An Evening of Worship,” led by LeeU Worship, on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.
The theme for the service is centered around “Believe,” inspired by Lee President Phil Cook’s inaugural address, which reminded the Lee community that belief is trust in the God who is still working among us, declaring, “We believe in new beginnings. We believe in miracles. We believe.”
“We are hosting a night of worship asking the Lord to grant us a heart to take Him at His word,” said Wesley Lutes, campus pastor at Lee. “We are saying, ‘Lord, I believe. Help me in my unbelief.’”
According to Lutes, LeeU Worship’s student leadership team is an integral part of building this event every semester.
“As a student, U-Church is one of the most meaningful parts of my Lee experience,” said Emma Elliot, a senior pastoral ministry major with a minor in business administration and member of the leadership team. “It’s a sacred time when our community pauses together to consecrate ourselves before God and refocus our hearts on Him. Leading and worshiping alongside my peers in that space continually renews my passion for ministry and deepens my devotion to Christ.”
LeeU Worship is a collective of student musicians, songwriters, and worship leaders who lead in worship in the weekly chapel services and special events at Lee University. Additionally, the members of LeeU Worship meet weekly designing and programming worship experiences specifically developed for college students.
Following the U-Church service, a “Fall Into Christmas” mixer will take place at the Paul Conn Student Union as a time for further fellowship and connection. There will be activities, games, and giveaways for everyone in attendance.
“An Evening of Worship” is a free, non-ticketed event, open to students, alumni, and the community. Seating is first come, first served.
