U-Church to Host Jonathan Ernstly Etienne

News

The Lee University U-Church series will continue this spring with a performance by Lee alum Jonathan Ernstly Etienne on Sunday Feb. 17 at 7:30 pm in the Conn Center.

Etienne is a favorite musician of Lee students, known for his years in the chapel worship band and his talent with multiple musical styles. The young performer has his own selection of Christian music that can sound in one song like Hillsong and in the next like Lil Wayne, all written to display his love for the gospel. In all his music, he is intent on encouraging real-life change in his listeners.

“Make it count or don’t do it at all,” says Etienne, a maxim he tries to enact in his life as much as in his music. He works closely with the Far Flung Tin Can (FFTC) foundation in order to support missionaries by promoting the work they do across the globe. Etienne traveled to Ecuador with FFTC to a feeding ministry called “Pan de Vida.” Due to his personal experience he now donates 50 percent of all music proceeds back to the Christian ministry.

“Welcome to the (Re)” is the newest of Etienne’s albums, released last month. It is a quick turn-around from his album “There You Are,” released in the middle of last year, with “Freedom Song (The Honesty Project)” being his first album released in 2011.
