Alumni, News

Stephanie Taylor received the Lee University Distinguished Alumnus of the Year award at the “Forever a Flame” virtual Homecoming celebrations last weekend.

“When considering candidates for the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year, we consider people who love Lee, have made an impact in their area of leadership and work, and represent the university’s core values,” said Dr. Brad Moffett, vice president for university relations. “I can’t think of anyone who is more deserving of this award than Stephanie Taylor. Her love for and investment in Lee cannot be measured.”

Taylor currently serves as the executive assistant to Dr. Paul Conn, Lee University chancellor. Previously, she served for over 20 years as secretary to the Lee board of directors and in the president’s office as Conn’s executive assistant before both transitioned into their new positions in August 2020. She has been a staff member at Lee University since 1996.

Taylor is a 1984 graduate from Lee College where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. She is married to Robin Taylor, also a Lee alum. They have three children who also have all graduated from Lee University.

While at Lee, she was a member of Ladies of Lee, Delta Zeta Tau, and Upsilon Xi.

After graduating, Stephanie Taylor served as Delta Zeta Tau sponsor for 13 years and was named the group’s Distinguished Alumna of the Year in 2011. She also received the Lee University Volley for a Cure Volunteer Award for the Mary Ellen Locher Foundation in 2015.

“It would be impossible for any other award to mean as much to me as this one does,” said Taylor in her acceptance speech during a Homecoming video.
