Greek Olympics 2025

This year Lee University is hosting its 41st annual Summer Honors Program which will take place June 14-26. The transformative two-week experience allows incoming freshmen and high school seniors from across the country to experience the spiritual, academic, and social opportunities of college life at Lee.

“I’m so excited about what the students will experience this year at Summer Honors, from outstanding classes taught by some of Lee’s finest professors, to new friendships that form quickly, and an incredible lineup of events like Greek Olympics, rafting the Ocoee, a Chattanooga Lookouts game, themed nights, and powerful worship gatherings that are always some of the most meaningful moments of the program,” said Dr. Jason Robinson, director of Summer Honors and professor of education at Lee.

Participants choose two courses from a total of 16 offerings covering a variety of interests and majors, to earn six college credits. Examples include “Design it. Print it. Display it. Exploring Engineering Through Making,” “May It Please the Court: Mock Trial and Law at Lee,” “Embodied Artificial Intelligence: Robots that Think, Sense, and Act!” “Called to Care: Discover Nursing,” “Music for Worship: The Role of Music and the Musician in Gathered Worship,” and “Peer into Life Unseen: A Hands-On Journey Through Science.” These and other courses, all taught by Lee University professors, will offer students a preview of collegiate academics. Summer Honors 2025, Worship

In the midst of classes and activities, the central aspect of the program is faith development. Spiritual growth is enriched through daily devotionals, small group discussions, and worship experiences throughout the two weeks. These moments are central to the mission of Lee University, giving students the opportunity to deepen their faith and share their journeys with peers. Additionally, participating students will come together for a Serve Day during Summer Honors, furthering their journey of servant leadership.

Serve Teams will return to help facilitate this year’s program. These teams bring together key leaders from across the university, including faculty, athletics staff, financial aid experts, and professionals from Student Financial Services and Student Life & Success.

“This initiative provides participants with opportunities to connect with influential leaders from different campus sectors, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the university community and support systems,” said Robinson.

The theme of this year’s event is “Soar,” inspired by Isaiah 40:31, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

“Students won’t just leave Summer Honors with new knowledge and great memories,” said Robinson. “Our hope is that they leave with a stronger sense of their identity in Christ, greater confidence in their gifts, and a clearer vision for their future. We want this to be an experience where God strengthens them for what’s ahead and sends them out ready to walk in it and soar.

Spots are still available for the two-week event, which accepts 200 students annually. Summer Honors costs $980 per participant, which covers six college credits, along with books, lodging, meals, and activities.
