Summer Athletic Camps Announced

Athletic camps for community youth are scheduled to take place on the Lee University campus this summer. Each camp will take the necessary precautions, abiding by the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) regulations for the safety of the campers.

None of the listed camps has a residential component; campers will return home at the end of each day. Specific information for each camp, handled by individual directors, can be found below. For more information or to register, contact camp organizers.

Baseball Camp

Day Camp

Conducted by the Lee University baseball staff and players, campers will learn the fundamentals of hitting, bunting, throwing, defense, and base running. Games will be played each day with instruction. The cost is $115, which includes a T-shirt.

When: July 13-16, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Ages: 5-15

Advanced Skills Camp

This camp focuses on the advanced instruction of hitting, pitching, and catching. Each camper will receive instruction as well as participate in the same drills that are given daily to college level athletes. Cost is $70 for hitting, $55 for pitching and catching, or $115 for both sessions. Each participant will receive a T-shirt.

When: June 29-July 1, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Ages: 8-15

Camp capacity may be limited by CDC, state, or local guidelines, but registration will continue until that limit is met. Walk-up registrations will not be held this year.

Men’s Basketball Camp

Bubba Smith Skills and Drills Basketball Camp

Basic skill instruction will be the focus through daily drill work. In addition to the skill development, competitive and fun games will be played. Regardless of current level of skill, players will receive personal attention and instruction. Cost is $160 per person and includes lunch, a T-shirt, and a camp ball.

When: July 20-23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Elite Camp

The Flames will host two separate Elite Camps. Camp is a one-day session limited to the first 60 registrants, with two sessions available. Top prospects from the region will be in attendance to be evaluated by the coaching staff. Cost is $100 per person and includes lunch and a T-shirt.

When: Aug. 8-9, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Women’s Basketball Camp

Marty Rowe Skills and Drills Basketball Camp

Basic skill instruction will be the focus of this camp through daily drill work. In addition to mastering the fundamentals, advanced skill development and game simulation will be a key component. Regardless of current level of skill, players will receive personal attention and instruction. Cost is $90 per camper.

When: July 13-16, 9-11:30 a.m.
Grades: K-8th

Lady Flames Elite Camp

Camp is open to upcoming 9-12 graders who are serious about playing college basketball. This is a unique opportunity for players to experience the campus of Lee University while competing at a high level. This camp is $100 and includes a T-shirt and lunch.

Soccer Camp

4 v 4 Lee Boys & Girls Summer Soccer Camp

Campers will be divided into teams, and they will train and play with their teams during the week. Each of the first four days will be divided into three basic sections: 1. Group activity for approximately 30 minutes. 2. Skill work, fun games, and team training for approximately 60 minutes. 3. 4 v 4 games for approximately 60 minutes (1-2 games per day). There will be a small award ceremony on the last day. Registration will be limited to 48 participants per section.

When: July 6-10
Ages: 4-79-11:30 a.m.
Ages: 8-12 from 5:30-8 p.m.

Day Camp

This teaching camp is designed for players of all skill levels. Campers are challenged to improve in a positive and fun environment. Each morning will begin with a technical session helping players learn the essential skills of passing, receiving, dribbling, turning, and shooting. These skills are then built upon throughout the day with small-sided games, individual competitions, and ladder games. Each afternoon will conclude with small scrimmage games. All staff are current Lee Men’s Soccer coaches or players and all have full background checks completed prior to the start of camp.
