Students Travel to Israel
On Sunday, May 5, a group of 25 students departed Lee University for a 12-day trip to Israel.
During their time in Israel, students will have the opportunity to take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, stand on top of Mt. Carmel, walk the ruins at Gamla, and experience baptism in the Jordan River. They will also visit the Mount of Olives, the Garden of Gethsemane, Mount Zion (The Upper Room), and Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, a memorial for those martyred during WWII.
Other highlights will include swimming in the Dead Sea, riding camels in the Bedouin village Kfar Hanokdim, praying at the Western Wall, walking along the Via Dolorosa, and more.
The faculty trip director is Dr. Bill Effler, associate professor of pastoral ministries at Lee, and his wife Kristen.
