Students Receive Scholarships at Lee Day 2019

To conclude the Lee Day festivities, the university hosted a worship rally where eight students received scholarships. Cameron Smart from Weaverville, North Carolina received a $5000 scholarship. Savannah Martin from Charlotte, North Carolina received a meal plan for 21 meals per week. Jacob Browning from Thompson’s Station, Tennessee; Elijah Joyce from Swan’s Island, Maine; Garrett Potts from Dora, Alabama; and Emily Schaffer from Independence, Kentucky, each received a $3000 scholarship. Transfer students Christina Buchanan of Taylor, South Carolina, and Israel Molina of Miami, Florida, also received $3000 scholarships. For the first time, Lee also hosted a reception for local high school students on Thursday evening, where eight students each received a $1000 scholarship. The recipients include Mikayla Beasley, Matthew Black, Alexis Griffey, Mandy Houghton, Samuel Hunter, Samuel Luke Mercer, Broderick Philips, and Fathe Spiers.
