Students Depart for Semester in United Kingdom(1)

News

Twenty Lee University students departed for the annual United Kingdom Semester Study Abroad trip on Monday, Jan. 20.

The study-abroad program offers participants the unique opportunity to earn 15 credit hours while immersed in the historical city of Cambridge. The group will also visit celebrated sites across the U.K. such as Stonehenge, London, the Lakes District, and Bath.

While in Cambridge, students complete courses in British Theatre, Cinema and Historical Foundations of Higher Education, as well as a C.S. Lewis class, all taught by some of Lee faculty through a specially-designed online program.

The trip culminates with a two-week, independently-arranged backpack tour across Europe. Students have the opportunity to arrange their own itineraries and travel accommodations to European cities like Paris, Prague, Barcelona, Venice, and Rome.

This year’s trip leader is Dr. Eric Moyen, associate professor and chairperson of the Health, Exercise Science and Secondary Education Department in Lee’s Helen Devos College of Education. He is joined by his wife Missy and their two daughters, Anna Grace and Emmy.
This year’s participants include: Victoria Anderson of Cleveland, Tenn.; Haley Bishop of Cleveland, Tenn.; Abby Boltniew of Cleveland, Tenn.; Ashley Bonin of Newport Center, Vt.; Hannah Clark of Harriman, Tenn.; Hannah Cole of Athens, Ga.; Ben Counts of Franklin, Tenn.; Emma Elder of Thompson Station, Tenn.; Jami Gibson of Cleveland, Tenn.; Meredith Harwell of Nashville, Tenn.; Lydia Hill of Greenville, S.C.; Kenisha Huddleston of LaFollette, Tenn.; Joshua Jones of Mt.
