Student Performance_2024The Lee University School of Music will present a student showcase on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 3:30 p.m. The performance will take place in Pangle Hall, located on Lee’s campus.

The recital is being held as part of the National Association of the Schools of Music (NASM) visit to Lee’s campus and will feature vocal and instrumental student performances selected by the Lee School of Music faculty.

“Our hope, in an hour’s time, is to highlight the uncommon excellence embodied in the Lee School of Music,” said Dr. Doug Warner, director of Lee’s applied studies in music. “This recital highlights students from all our degree programs and all levels of study, and it will feature pieces from a variety of genres and styles, from opera to jazz.”

Founded in 1924, NASM is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges, and universities with approximately 608 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for music and music-related disciplines, and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other music-related endeavors.

The recital is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
