Composition Showcase 2023

Lee University School of Music will present its Composition Showcase on Friday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

The showcase promotes new student works and provides students with an opportunity to experience sourcing their own performers, leading rehearsals, and hearing their own pieces in a live setting.

The students presenting their work in this year’s showcase include Jared Anderson, Avery Brokish, McGraw Eby, Madeline Fowler, Austin Petitt, and Vu Tran.

“The showcase is always an exciting time for our forum members,” said Fowler, president of the Lee Composer’s Forum. “Premiering new music is a difficult endeavor and an exercise of vulnerability, clarification, and execution. I’m particularly excited about the submissions we received this year!”

The Composition Showcase is a student-led concert that features music by student composers both inside and outside the music composition major. The event is sponsored by the Composers’ Forum, a student-run organization at Lee that seeks to foster creativity and camaraderie among student composers and songwriters.

This concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
