Events, Music, News

The Lee University School of Music will present the Sr. Honors Concert on Monday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall, featuring performers selected by School of Music faculty from the entire senior class.

“We have a very talented group of senior music majors this year,” said Dr. Douglas Warner, director of applied studies in music. “The students who will be performing in this concert were each nominated by their respective applied instructors and were subsequently selected by the applied music faculty through a rigorous audition process. These performers represent the high level of musicianship for which the Lee University School of Music is known.”

The vocalists performing include tenors Jordan Narkates and Ethan Wexler, mezzo-sopranos Jill Reynolds, Emma Richard, and Alleigh Watson, and sopranos Marielle Alexander, Katie Lin, and Ashley Mills.

Instrumental performers include saxophonist Jacob Bowman, trombonist Jordan Trudeau, and pianist Lynnae Eades.

Composers whose music will be represented include familiar names such as Gioachino Rossini, Richard Strauss, Gabriel Faure, Gaetano Donizetti, and Alberto Ginastera. Selections from musical theatre, jazz, and the avante garde round out the program with a variety of styles.

This is a free, non-ticketed event, open to the public. Squires Recital Hall is located in Lee’s Humanities Center, located on Paul Conn Parkway.

Livestream viewing will be available at leeu.live.
