SOM to Present Clarinet, Trombone & Tuba-Euphonium Concert Nov. 3

The Lee University Clarinet Choir, Trombone Ensemble, and Tuba-Euphonium Choir will perform together on Monday, Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall, located in the Humanities Center on Lee’s campus.
“This collaborative concert brings together the unique voices of our clarinets, trombones, euphoniums, and tubas in a celebration of musical diversity and shared artistry,” said Dr. Jesse McConnell, instructor of tuba and euphonium. “It’s a joy to witness these talented students unite on stage, offering the audience a rich tapestry of sounds—from majestic marches to heartfelt hymns.”
The Tuba-Euphonium Choir, directed by McConnell will present the “Earle of Oxford Marche,” “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing,” “Be Thou, My Vision,” “Quartet No. 1,” “Simple Gifts,” and “Brazil.”
Selections to be performed by the Clarinet Choir, directed by Dr. Amy Humberd, assistant professor of clarinet, include “Nimrod from Enigma Variations,” “Klezmer Suite, Movement I ‘Itamar Freilach,’” “At Night,” “Rolling Thunder,” and “Take on Me y A-ha.”
The Trombone Ensemble, directed by Dr. Doug Warner, professor of music, will perform “Achieved is the Glorious Work,” “Eclipse,” and “Bruckner Etude.” The set will also feature a solo performance by community member Stevan Haire, who will perform “Sonata for Trombone and Piano, Movement III.”
The concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. The concert will also be available for livestream viewing at leeu.live.
