School of Music to Host Honor Band Concert

Events, Music, News

Lee University’s School of Music will present the Honor Band Student Concert on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

Seventy-four high school students from across four states will perform a variety of pieces, including “Clouds that Sail in the Heavens,” by Todd Stalter; “In His Grace,” by Ayatey Shabazz; and “Deerpath Dances,” by Dr. David Holsinger; among others.

Joel Denton, instructor of music education, will serve as the clinician for this year’s Honor Band.

The students were selected for Honor Band based upon information submitted by the students, in addition to recommendations from their individual band directors.

The concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
