Rep. Fleischmann Town Hall Tour Kicks Off at Lee

News

U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann made an appearance at Lee University in the Humanities Building Aug. 29 in the first of sixteen town hall meetings across East Tennessee. Fleischmann was elected in 2010 as Tennessee’s Third District Representative in the U.S. House.

Fleischmann’s presentation included a slideshow on government spending and debt, and also outlined his goals for solving fiscal problems. Following his presentation the congressman responded to audience questions.

Rep. Kevin Brooks of Bradley County was present to introduce Fleischmann. Also in attendance was Bradley County major Gary Davis, many local citizens, media representatives and students from Lee University and area high schools.

The goal of the town hall format is to allow Rep. Fleischmann to hear directly from the people of the Third District.

“Having held almost 250 events in East Tennessee since taking office 8 months ago, I understand how important it is to meet the citizens of our great District face-to-face so I can best represent them in Washington,” said Fleischmann.

Lee University was selected as the only location for Bradley County, as it has become a popular venue to host elected government leaders over the years.

The schedule for the additional fifteen town hall meetings runs from Aug. 29 through Sept. 2 and includes locations in Hamilton and surrounding counties. A complete town hall schedule and additional information can be accessed at www.fleischmann.house.gov/townhalls.
