Registration Deadline for Secret Church is Nearing
The registration deadline for the upcoming Secret Church is approaching.
The final day to register for the event is Tuesday, April 10.
Lee
University will host Secret Church on Friday, April 20, at the Church
Street Annex (formerly First Baptist Church). This six-hour study of the
New Testament, beginning at 6:00 p.m., will be led by Dr. Mark Walker,
Senior Pastor of Mount Paran North in Atlanta, Ga.
Modeled after
the persecuted church and their study of the Word, Secret Church started
in Birmingham, Ala. David Platt, author of New York Times Best
Seller, “Radical,” spent time in the underground churches of Asia where
people would gather for 8 or more hours to study the Word of God and
was inspired to implement this idea in his church.
There will be times of worship and times of prayer for the persecuted church throughout the evening.
Jackie
Leggett of Cleveland, Tenn., will also be sharing about her experiences
with the persecuted church. She is the widow of aid worker, Chris
Leggett, who was killed in 2009 while serving those who are being
persecuted.
Admission is $10 per person to cover the study guide
needed for the evening. Students will be admitted free with ID. A love
offering will be collected to support Bible translation.
