The Lee University Opera Theatre will host an Opera Masterclass with Dr. Elvia Puccinelli on Friday, Sept. 17. This free event, taking place from 3:30-5 p.m., will be available for livestream viewing on Lee’s website.

Lee Opera Theatre students will perform arias from “Così fan tutte,” “Old Maid and the Thief,” and “The Tender Land,” collaborating with Lee piano students.

“We look forward to Dr. Puccinelli’s inspiring teaching,” said Dr. ChoEun Lee, assistant professor of collaborative piano/vocal coaching at the university.

Committed to nurturing a collaborative and inclusive culture by fostering the collaborative ideals of partnership, participation, and presence, pianist Puccinelli is internationally recognized as a leader in connecting collaborative pianists, supporting their needs, and elevating their voices.

She has appeared in song and chamber music recitals at venues throughout the United States and Europe at diverse performance events such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Chamber Concert Series, Plácido Domingo’s Operalia Competition, and the International Trumpet Guild Conference. She is also a published author on topics of song literature and collaborative piano techniques.

Puccinelli is a professor of collaborative piano and vocal coaching and coordinator of collaborative piano at the University of North Texas College of Music. She is founder and president of the International Keyboard Collaborative Arts Society, a professional association for collaborative pianists. She is also founder and artistic director of CollabFest, an international professional conference devoted exclusively to collaborative piano, the first event of its kind in the world, and presented annually since 2016.

All are invited to view the Friday masterclass at livestream.com/leeu.

The masterclass is part of LeeU Collab Music’s day-long workshop, taking place on Saturday and directed by Dr. Lee.

In addition to the Friday masterclass, Puccinelli will give a keynote speech and collaborative piano masterclass at the workshop on Saturday, Sept. 18.
