Christian hip-hop artists Propaganda, FLAME, and Tedashii will open Lee
University’s spring U-Church series on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in
the Conn Center.

“When our team began planning for U-Church, we started with a focus on providing a diverse line up,” said Josh York, U-Church director. “With the recent success and massive growth of Christian rap and hip-hop, we knew this was the time to break away from our common mold and put this event together.”

Propaganda’s subject matter ranges from staying accountable to God to standing up boldly for one’s faith both in word and in one’s life. In his career, Propaganda has opened for and performed with such groups as De La Soul, The Visionaries, Lightheaded, Ahmad & 4th Avenue Jones, LA Symphony, and toured with KRS ONE.

FLAME has received five Dove Award nominations, three Stellar Award nominations and one GRAMMY nomination. His previous two albums, 2010’s Captured and 2012’s The 6th, both debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel charts. In addition to making his own music, FLAME is also the co-founder of the record label Clear Sight Music.

FLAME’S discography includes self-titled debut album Flame, Rewind, Our World Fallen, Our World Redeemed, Captured, The 6th and Royal Flush. FLAME is the youngest Christian Hip-Hop artist to release seven full- length studio albums.

With his music, Tedashii shares his past identity struggles, the fountain of his new identity, and challenges listeners to find their identity in Christ alone. His sophomore album, Identity Crisis, charted No. 2 on the Gospel Billboard chart and No. 9 on the Christian Billboard chart. Since his last release, Blacklight, Tedashii has been heard on many songs as a feature artist and has also been serving at The Village Church in Denton, Texas, with his family.

U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event for students, alumni and the community. Seating is first-come, first-serve, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
