Lee University’s Holly Perleoni has been named the winner of the 2022 Excellence in Advising Award. Lee President Dr. Mark L. Walker officially recognized Perleoni for this award during commencement ceremonies earlier this month.

“I have been blessed to work with incredible students, and I feel fortunate to play even a small role in their journey when we meet for advising each semester,” said Perleoni. “Advising is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job – the fact I get to sit with students and help them plan not just their classes but their future – I can’t believe I get to call that a ‘job.’ It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized in this way.”

Perleoni began teaching for Lee in 2016 as a part-time faculty member after completing her MBA in Lee University’s School of Business. In fall of 2018, she joined the ranks of the full-time faculty and began pursuing her doctorate in business administration at Anderson University. Perleoni teaches marketing courses, including consumer behavior and brand development.

Prior to joining Lee’s faculty in 2018, Perleoni worked in retail and financial management. She is currently part of the Christian Business Faculty Association, American Marketing Association, and Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society. Perleoni also serves as the interim director and coordinator for the graduate business program and is the faculty sponsor for Life 423, a service club that counsels and develops beneficial relationships with middle school girls in the region.

“At Lee University, advising goes beyond helping students schedule the right classes; it also includes genuinely caring for the emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing of students,” said Walker.” Holly Perleoni is that kind of an advisor and is a worthy recipient of this award.”

The Excellence Awards are the highest honors presented to Lee faculty members. The recipient of the Excellence in Advising Award is chosen by a faculty committee, which reviews a three-year history of student advisor evaluation data as well as other information provided by the nominating department chairs and deans.
