The Lee University School of Music will welcome mezzo-soprano Caitlin Moore as the next guest in the 2021 Performing Arts Series (PAS). The performance will take place Monday, Oct. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall, located in the Humanities Center on Lee’s campus.

Moore, a Lee alumna recognized by La Presse as “magnifique talent vocal et dramatique” and “aplomb and distinction” by Opera Canada, has performed in numerous concerts, symphonies, and operas, and is the recipient of many vocal awards.

The Monday evening concert will feature a diverse array of modern American art songs by living composers based on texts by women. Moore will be joined by collaborative artists from Lee’s School of Music Kristen Holritz, flute, and Dr. ChoEun Lee, piano.

After graduating in 2012 from Lee University with bachelor’s degrees in music and music education, Moore received her master’s degree in voice and opera performance at McGill University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in voice performance with a secondary in voice pedagogy at the University of Northern Colorado, while also running an online private studio and working as a voice instructor at Colorado Mesa University.

Moore was recently honored as a 2021 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) intern and currently serves as the NATS co-vice president and auditions chair. She was certified in all three levels at Shenandoah University’s Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute in 2019 and attended New England Conservatory’s Acoustic Vocal Pedagogy Workshop and Online Teaching Technology Workshop in 2020.

A dynamic advocate for arts outreach, Moore has also served in administrative positions with organizations such as the Glimmerglass Festival, L’Opéra de Montréal, Opera Tennessee, and the Tennessee Chamber Chorus.

Moore will also present a lecture, “How to Promote Yourself as a Musician on Social Media,” on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 5:15 p.m. in Squires Recital Hall.
