Operation Christmas Child at Lee

News

On Tuesday, Nov. 13, more than 850 Lee University students,
staff and faculty gathered to pack shoeboxes for Operation
Christmas Child (OCC), a service opportunity provided through
Samaritan’s Purse. The mission of OCC is to fill as many
shoebox-sized boxes as possible with Christmas gifts to be
distributed to children in need around the world. Over 3,000 boxes
were filled by students this month. Lee’s Office of Student
Development and Student Leadership Council have been in charge of
the on campus packing efforts since 1998, providing over 20,000
shoeboxes to date. Pictured here are students and staff gathered in
Lee’s Walker Arena for the packing party. (Photo submitted by Randi
