On Friday, Nov. 1, Lee University’s Music Festival will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center as a part of Lee’s Homecoming celebrations.

“The Homecoming Music Festival will be a fast-paced program that will be entertaining, nostalgic, and have meaningful moments of worship and celebration,” said Dr. Brad Moffett, festival director.

This year’s festival will feature the Voices of Lee, Large Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Strings, all the touring choirs, and Dr. Jonathan Jung, assistant professor of piano. A special addition this year will be a medley of songs led by former staff and alumni from chapel music experiences throughout the decades.

In addition to these musical expressions, Dr. Mark Bailey, director of the Symphonic Band, and the Symphonic Band will be honored for their 30th anniversary. Special pieces will be performed by the current members of the Symphonic Band that demonstrates their dedication to musical excellence.

The finale of the festival this year will include current and alumni members of the Symphonic Band/vocal team and the 250-voice Lee University Festival Choir under the direction of Bailey.

“This will be a memorable event for our Lee family, as well as our community friends and supporters,” said Moffett.

This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. To reserve a ticket, call the Alumni Relations office at (423) 614-8316.
