Dr. Brad Moffett has been appointed to serve as Vice President for University Relations at Lee University and will assume his new position during the summer. Moffett’s appointment was announced by Lee President Dr. Paul Conn following a recent board meeting.

“I’m pleased that Dr. Moffett will be joining the Cabinet in this important position,” said Conn. “He has been very effective in everything he has undertaken at Lee and earned the respect of all of us who have worked with him. I’m confident he will do an outstanding job at the vice presidential level.”

“I am honored by Dr. Conn’s invitation to join the president’s cabinet,” said Moffett. “This is an important time in the life of Lee University, and I am excited to join with President Conn and the other members of the cabinet, including incoming president Mark Walker, in charting the course for how to most effectively engage the many alums and friends of Lee.”

Moffett is best known for his leadership of the Lee Singers. A 1992 graduate of Lee, he was recruited by Conn to return to his alma mater as director of the Singers in 2006. He currently holds the rank of Professor of Music and is director of graduate programs in the School of Music. He also directs LeeU Worship, the school’s student praise-and-worship team.

As director of Lee Singers, Moffett has conducted over 500 concerts in Columbia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Zambia, and throughout the United States. He has also produced 12 recordings with Lee Singers and two full-length recordings and three singles with LeeU Worship.

“The support of our alumni base, donors, and friends is one of the reasons Lee has been able to serve our students well,” said Moffett. “My wife Melissa and I look forward to finding ways to strengthen these crucial relationships and build new ones for future growth.”

Prior to coming to Lee, Moffett served as the director of music and fine arts at Mount Paran North Church of God in Marietta, Georgia.

He is the author of “The Great Fifty Days: A Devotional from Easter to Pentecost” and was a contributor to “The Ultimate Idea Book for Music Ministry.”

Moffett has served on various state and international boards for the Church of God, including the International Division of Discipleship Ministries Board of Directors, International Music Ministries Board, North Georgia State Music Committee, and the National Music Advisory Board. He has been the worship leader at Church of God State and International meetings such as prayer conferences, camp meetings, general assemblies and Promise Keepers events.

He has been a regular guest speaker at regional and national music/worship conferences and has presented worship seminars in Germany, Indonesia, Romania, and Russia.

Moffett received his doctorate in worship studies from the Institute for Worship Studies in Orange Park, Florida, and a master’s degree in sacred music and choral conducting from Georgia State University. He received his bachelor’s degree from Lee University.

As Vice President for University Relations, Moffett will succeed Dr. Jerome Hammond, who will remain at Lee as a teacher in the Department of Behavioral Sciences.
