Marimba Madness This Wednesday

 On Wednesday, Apr 11, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. Lee University School of Music will present the percussion studio concert, “Marimba Madness,” featuring student performances of some of today’s most popular works written or arranged for the marimba. The concert will be held at Squires Recital Hall in Lee’s Humanities Center on Parker Street.

Featured performances include 2 Mexican Dances by Gordon Stout, Perpetual by Michael Burritt, Libertango by Eric Sammut, and Words Unspoken by Dr. Andy Harnsberger, director of Percussion Studies at Lee.

The concert will also feature a performance by Harnsberger of his new work for marimba titled, “Phoenix.”

The percussion studio students of Harnsberger, and Brandon Wood, an instructor of percussion at Lee, are: Matthew Benton, Victoria Betts, Kenneth Callaway, Jacob Gray, Paul Hayes, Richard Henson, Kenwin Hunte, Nick Prihoda, Luke Simpson, VJ Tunkel, and Keigan Warren.

The concert is a non-ticketed event, free and open to the public.
