Manhattan Chamber Players to Continue Presidential Concert Series

On Thursday, Feb. 12, the Manhattan Chamber Players will continue the 33rd season of Lee University’s Presidential Concert Series with a performance in Pangle Hall at 7:30 p.m.
“The Manhattan Chamber Players bring together outstanding musicians and a deep commitment to chamber repertoire at the highest level,” said Dr. Vanessa Wei, director of the Presidential Concert Series. “This program offers our community a rare opportunity to experience masterworks by Mozart and Beethoven in an intimate setting.”
Members of the Manhattan Chamber Players will perform Mozart’s “Oboe Quartet” and Beethoven’s “Serenade for Flute, Violin, and Viola.” The group is a chamber music collective of New York-based musicians who share the common aim of performing the greatest works in the chamber repertoire.
Formed in 2015 by artistic director and violist Luke Fleming, the Manhattan Chamber Players comprises musicians who all have independent careers as soloists and chamber musicians. The group has been featured multiple times on NPR’s Performance Today and is the ensemble-in-residence at both the Festival de Febrero in Mexico and the Crescent City Chamber Music Festival in New Orleans.
Tickets for performances are $15 for adults and $5 for students, seniors, and children. Tickets are available for purchase at the Lee University Box Office in the Dixon Center or by contacting (423) 614-8343, one week before the event, between 3-6 p.m. Tickets are also available at eventbrite.com/cc/lee-university-presidential-concert-series-4606553.
Designated parking will be available throughout the season, with assistance available if needed. Guests may also park at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, located at 200 Church Street, which has kindly made its lot available for use.
