Lee University and Bank of Cleveland will present a virtual rendition of the annual “A Classic Christmas,” which will be livestreamed through the Lee website and aired on PBS this month.

“For over 30 years Lee University has celebrated Christmas in the community with the annual Classic Christmas concert,” said Dr. William Green, dean of the School of Music. “We couldn’t let this year pass without the opportunity to celebrate Christmas with everyone once again. We miss having guests on campus to celebrate with us, but I hope we are able to capture the spirit of Classic Christmas and bring it to everyone’s home this holiday season.”

This highly anticipated event will feature performances by Lee University Chorale, Choral Union, Voices of Lee, and other special presentations from School of Music (SOM) faculty and students.

“A Classic Christmas” will include a variety of traditional Christmas songs, such as “Joy to the World,” “Silent Night,” “Mary Did You Know,” “I’ll be Home For Christmas,” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.”

The Lee Trio and Jazz Ensemble, along with several SOM brass and percussion students, will also be featured throughout the event, in addition to special readings from Alumni Relations Director Dr. Susan Ashcraft.

This hour-long Christmas program can be viewed on PBS Sunday, Dec. 20, at 2:30 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 24, at 10:30 p.m.

The livestream can be found at https://leeu.live and will be streamed on Friday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 24, at 7:30 p.m.
