Lee’s Award-Winning Publications Office

News

It was a good night recently for Lee University’s Office of Publications as they won a total of four ADDY awards in the 2013 American Advertising Federation (AAF) Awards Competition in Chattanooga.

Topping the list of award-winning publications was the Insider Magazine which brought home the Gold ADDY for Lee. The publications team also received three Silver ADDYs for a variety of pieces including an advertisement featuring a highly stylized metallic flame.

According to the AAF website, Gold ADDY award winners advance to AAF’s regional competition in Nashville.

Vice President for University Relations Dr. Jerome Hammond acknowledged the group’s accomplishment, saying, “In a world of information overload this small and talented team consistently achieves a difficult goal – getting your attention. They work hard and this honor is well deserved.”

The student team is led by Director of Publications Regenia Collier.

“It is an honor to work with this talented team of students,” said Collier. “What I like most is that they are able to provide valuable work for the university while gaining professional experience that will help them for a lifetime. These awards feel like icing on the cake.”

In the same week the team also won a CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Special Merit award for the Insider Magazine going up against schools such as Emory, North Carolina State, FSU, and Georgia Tech.
