Lee University to Host Lecture on Presidential Election
Lee’s Department of History, Political Science and Humanities
will welcome Dr. James Ceaser on Friday, Nov. 16, to give a lecture
entitled, “Revisiting the Presidential Election.”
Ceaser’s talk will be a retrospective of the presidential
election, particularly in light of America’s philosophic commitment
to liberalism.
Ceaser serves as Professor of Politics at the University of
Virginia where he has taught since 1976. He has written several
books on American politics and political thought, including
“Presidential Selection,” “Liberal Democracy and Political
Science,” “Reconstructing America,” and “Nature and History in
American Political Development.”
Ceaser has held visiting professorships at the University of
Florence, the University of Basel, Oxford University, the
University of Bordeaux, and the University of Rennes.
The lecture will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Johnson Lecture
Hall in the Humanities Center.
A question and answer session will immediately follow the
lecture. Refreshments will be provided.
