Lee University Jazz Ensemble to Perform

The Lee University Jazz Ensemble will present its fall concert on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Church Street Annex Auditorium under the direction of Alan Wyatt.
The ensemble will feature the music of Bob Mintzer, Count Basie, and Charles Mingus, along with a Maria Schneider arrangement of “Ladybird” by Tadd Dameron, among other compositions.
The Jazz Ensemble consists of 23 students with various majors, and includes 14 wind instrumentalists and nine rhythm section instrumentalists. A frequent award winner at national festivals, it performs for campus, school, and civic events. Its students also have the opportunity to perform in combos under the supervision of tenor saxophonist Wyatt, a highly acclaimed soloist known for his imaginative improvisations and assistant professor of music at Lee.
The concert is free of charge and open to the public.
