Lee to Host “The Exiles Experience” Conference

Events, News

Lee University will host “The Exiles Experience,” a conference for college students and young adults on Oct. 28-29 in Pangle Hall. The weekend-long event will include evening worship, guest speakers, discussion panels, and a baptism commissioning service.

This conference is co-sponsored by Church of God World Missions, and its purpose is to facilitate encounters with Jesus through intercessory prayer and worship to empower the next generation of leaders. “Our call is not to escape culture, but to shape it from within by forging deep, meaningful encounters with Jesus and relationships with others,” said Dr. Rob Fultz, Lee University’s campus pastor.

The conference will begin Friday evening at 7 with doors opening at 6. Forge, Redemption to the Nations’ college ministry worship team, will lead worship and Fultz will speak.

On Saturday morning, there will be two breakout sessions starting at 9 a. m. The first session is a peer-to-peer panel conversation about revival happening in this generation, followed by a discussion panel with Fultz and other church leaders about living counter-culturally and growing in leadership. Saturday evening’s service will begin at 6 with doors opening at 5:30 and will include worship by The Exiles Movement Worship Team and an opportunity to be baptized.

“There is a rawness to the move of God happening in this generation, and it’s unlike anything we have ever experienced,” said Fultz. “It’s a deconstruction, not of our faith but of our idols. It’s the destruction of the labels and identities not aligned with God’s word. It is the demolition of strongholds too long enslaving God’s Church.”

This is the third year the event has been offered to young adults in the community, but the first time the conference will take place over two days. “The Exiles Experience” was created out of the desire to help young people live on mission locally and globally now, where they are, and with what they have.

This event is free, nonticketed, and open to the public.
