Choosing a college is a major decision facing students who plan
to continue their education.

With numerous choices offered to students, Lee University aims
to help students make a decision that is best for them. In order to
do that, Lee hosts Frontline Preview Days throughout the year. This
year, Frontline days will be held on Nov. 2 and 16, Jan. 25, and
Feb. 15 and 18.

Frontline days are open to high school juniors and seniors and
transfer students, as well as their parents or guardians. The day
will begin with light breakfast, mingling with current Lee
students, and a welcome address from Phil Cook, Vice President for
Enrollment. Students are then dismissed and have the opportunity to
sit in on a class of their choice. While students are attending
class, parents attend a financial aid session.

“We think it is vital that students sit in on a class during
their visit to Lee,” said Director of Admissions Andrea Patrick.
“The classroom is where students will spend a large portion of
their time during college and it is important for potential
students to experience what a class at Lee is like.”

After class students and parents head to the Deacon Jones Dining
Hall. Families will be able to sample Lee University life by
enjoying lunch with current Lee students and faculty. Once lunch is
over families will embark on a tour of Lee’s campus. This
student-led tour will highlight many physical aspects of campus,
including a dorm room, along with a look at Lee through the eyes of
a current student.

“Giving tours has given me an amazing opportunity to share how
wonderful Lee has been to me,” said Shay Slaughter, senior student
ambassador. “It is rewarding to help students along in their
college decision process, especially when you can see that Lee is a
place that will challenge them academically, spiritually and
socially.”

Following the campus tours will be an Academic Carousel where
families will be able to meet members of Lee’s faculty from various
majors and departments. This is a time for students to explore what
Lee academics have to offer and allows them a chance to interact
with professors.

The day’s activities continue with a student panel. During this
time, a panel of current Lee students is asked questions about life
at Lee and their college experience. Following this will be a
performance by the Lee Singers, a mixed choral ensemble of 45
vocalists and 9 band members.

Frontline will conclude with a time for students to meet with
admissions counselors and ask any questions they might have. This
will also be a time when students may audition for the School of
Music if they have scheduled an appointment.

“Frontline is a great opportunity for students to explore what
Lee has to offer,” said Patrick. “Choosing a college is an
important decision, and we aim to help students find out if Lee is
the right school for them. From sitting in on a class to
interacting with current Lee students, the potential students are
able to get a great look at what life at Lee is like.”
