The Lee University theatre program will continue the 2014-15 season with a production of “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller, a drama full of “family secrets.” The show will run Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dixon Center.

Dan Buck, assistant professor of theatre, will serve as director.

Set in Anytown, America after the end of World War II, “All My Sons” portrays the Keller family, a reasonably successful and friendly household on the precipice of upset and upheaval. Larry, the eldest of two sons, went missing during the war, but now, three years later, his younger brother has invited Larry’s one-time fiancée home to propose to her. Their love stirs up previously undisclosed accusations and family secrets.

“This lesser known work of Miller’s is my personal favorite,” said Buck. “He so expertly plays one card at a time, beautifully crafting an intense and compelling story that will truly capture Lee audiences. Several of the actors, including Michael Bachman, Nathan Tullos, Erynn Robe, Jonathan Swindle, and Ashley Haddock, are senior theatre majors, so the crowd will get to see some of our most experienced and talented actors.”

The set for the play, which takes place in a backyard, has been designed by new theatre faculty member Jared Cole and will include one ton of real sod. “We’re excited not only by how the grass will look on stage but also by how it will fill the Dixon Center with the smell of the outdoors,” Buck said.

The play is recommended for children 13 years of age and older for content relating to serious family issues. Tickets will be available at the Box Office located in the lobby of the Communication Arts Building or by phone at (423) 614-8360, Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m. Tickets will also be available one hour before curtain time in the Dixon Center. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $7 for children, seniors, and students.
