Lee Hosts “Worthy Now” to Empower, Unite Women

Lee University recently hosted “Worthy Now: Stand With Your Sister,” an event for women of all ages. The evening was designed to highlight the unity of Christian women in their spiritual journeys.
“Our team looks forward to ‘Stand With Your Sister’ every year because we have seen firsthand how powerful it is when students realize they are not alone,” said Stacey York, event chair and Lee University spiritual life events coordinator. “There is something sacred about watching vulnerability turn into connection.”
During the event, Dr. Racheal Lawler, assistant professor of athletic training, shared with the women in attendance her testimony and a message emphasizing the importance of having female friends who will support you in your faith journey. Participants then completed a questionnaire activity designed to promote unity, emphasizing that no one is alone in their struggles.
“Worthy Now is extremely important to our campus, our women, and our sisters,” said Lawler. “It is an opportunity for women to come together in a safe, loving, spiritually guided space to pray and show strength for one another, as women and sisters in Christ. The love, care, and concern were palpable; it was a beautiful evening.”
The event closed with prayer and a time of worship, after which attendees were invited to a popcorn bar to promote continued fellowship following the event.
“Worthy Now” is dedicated to encouraging the women at Lee to embrace their worth, empower others to do the same, and inspire the calling on their lives.
