Lee Day Weekend Approaching

News

Lee University will host its annual Lee Day on Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, a weekend full of events and activities geared toward prospective students and their families.

The 30-hour spread of events will include campus tours, early class selection, informational sessions for parents about financial aid, campus organization displays, athletic events, music, open classes and more.

New to the agenda this year will be Lee U “Spotlight,” an event which will feature highlights of several musical ensembles, award-winning short films, alumni and athletes.

“The idea of “Spotlight” is to showcase Lee and allow prospective students to hear the success stories of Lee,” said Vice President for Enrollment and “Spotlight” host Phil Cook.

Friday afternoon visitors will have the opportunity to hear “Music in the Air” featuring several of Lee’s musical ensembles that will perform in venues around campus. Dinner will be provided in the Deacon Jones Dining Hall for all attendees following the performances.

Throughout the weekend, there will be opportunities to watch Flames and Lady Flames tennis, baseball and softball. Prospective students will also have a chance to meet the coaches.

Faculty and students will provide information and advice at an event called “Major Discovery” to help students decide on their major.

The traditional block party will be on Friday evening with fun and games for everyone to enjoy.

Lee Theatre will present “Sabrina Fair,” a romantic comedy and Audrey Hepburn classic, also on Friday evening.

The Alumni Luncheon, another new addition to Lee Day festivities, will take place on Saturday, as well as “Life at Lee,” a light-hearted look at campus life, followed by a cookout.

The weekend will conclude with a worship rally featuring President Paul Conn, Voices of Lee and Lee’s chapel worship band, followed by eight scholarship award drawings.

Local high school students, parents and youth leaders are encouraged to attend and participate. Registration will begin at noon on Friday and at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
