Lee Day Block Party 2024

Lee University is set to welcome prospective students and their families for Lee Day on Friday, April 4, and Saturday, April 5, offering an immersive glimpse into campus life. With a packed schedule of academic sessions, social events, worship gatherings, and scholarship drawings, there is still time for students to register and take part in this two-day event.

“Lee Day is a pivotal event for us at Lee University, showcasing our vibrant campus and the exceptional opportunities we offer,” said Dr. Jeff Salyer, vice president for enrollment and marketing at Lee. “We are excited to welcome prospective students to experience firsthand the supportive community and academic excellence that define Lee. We hope each student finds their place here, as they embark on their journey of Christ-centered higher education with us.”

Events will begin Friday at 8:30 a.m. with registration, campus tours, and a Residential Hall Open House. Prospective students can attend featured classes throughout the day, in addition to financial aid sessions and one-on-one academic advising. Early Class Selection will be available to help students graduating high school plan their future Lee classes.

Friday afternoon will highlight academic displays, a parent session on student success initiatives, and an open house hosted by the Office of Racial and Ethnic Relations. Later, students can explore their options at Major Discovery in Pangle Hall before attending a financial aid information presentation.

That evening, the annual block party on the Sharp Pedestrian Mall will bring attendees together with food, games, and the opportunity to celebrate with current students. At 7 p.m., attendees can choose from five events: an intramural sports night, the “Colors and Coffee” painting party, the Music Showcase featuring Lee Chorale and instrumental ensembles, a performance by Lee’s improv team, Shenanigans, or the Lee Theatre production of “A Murder is Announced” by Agatha Christie. The night will conclude with Moonlight Café, offering live music and coffee in a relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday’s events will begin at 7 a.m. with continued registration, campus tours, and Early Class Selection. Prospective students and their families can enjoy additional financial aid sessions, residence hall tours, and a special Lunch and Learn event with Lee President Dr. Paul Conn.

“Spotlight on Your Life at Lee” will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the Conn Center. This engaging presentation will showcase campus life through music, videos, and alumni stories. Special luncheons for transfer students and high schoolers will follow, giving attendees a chance to connect with current students and faculty while also entering the scholarship drawing taking place that evening.

Afternoon activities will include student booths and displays highlighting the university’s diverse academic, service, and social clubs. Auditions for the School of Music and informational sessions on disability services, the Kairos Honors Program, and Lee Athletics will also take place.

Lee Day will conclude with a Worship Rally in the Conn Center at 4 p.m., featuring LeeU Worship and Voices of Lee. Following the service, scholarships will be awarded to prospective students, and a celebratory cookout in Alumni Park will round out the weekend’s festivities.

All Lee Day events are free for registered guests. Guests may choose to participate in the whole weekend or certain events, but everyone is encouraged to register beforehand.
