Lee University’s Dr. Matthew Krepps will showcase the new organ
in Lee’s Chapel on Tuesday, Sep. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

The one-hour program will include works by J.S. Bach, Boëllmann,
Holst, and Haydn, among others. Hymns, including “St. Clement” and
“Lasst uns erfreuen,” will be sung.

The concert will demonstrate the variety of sounds and colors
that Lee’s Rodgers 376B digital organ is capable of producing
through the use of solo pieces including classical music, hymn
arrangements, and orchestral works.

Krepps will be accompanied by Lee students Ryan Fagan on the
trumpet and David LaCroix on the cello.

Krepps came to Lee from the University of Kentucky in 2002 as an
adjunct professor of chemistry. He now serves as an associate
professor, teaching both chemistry and astronomy courses. Krepps is
a graduate of Grove City College (Pennsylvania) and earned his PhD
in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Kentucky.

Krepps is a member of both the American Chemical Society (ACS)
and the American Guild of Organists, and has been a presenter at
multiple regional and national ACS meetings. He has written several
articles for publication in scientific journals, and his research
focuses on chemical education and heavy metal remediation.

Krepps is an avid cyclist and is the sponsor of Lee University’s
Cycling Club.
